Public Vote for their favourite print in the Annual Exhibition 2017

The public have voted. There were 78 votes cast. Over half the prints in the exhibition received at least one vote. showing just how difficult it was for the public to pick a favourite.

There were joint winners. Mick Rose with “Lanterns of Longleat” and Steve Baker with “Groyne”. Chairman Ted Toop made a joint presentation of the tankard trophy to Mick and Steve at the Skittle Evening on Tuesday 26th September 2017.

Annual Competition and Awards Evening 2017

Cup winners with Judge John Tilsley and Mayor and Mayoress

Weymouth Camera Club held its Annual Competition and Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 2nd May 2017 at the Centenary Club, Weymouth. Mr John Tilsley from Dorchester Camera Club was the judge for the Annual Competition. Guests of Honour were the Mayor Richard Kosior and his wife. Mayor Kosior presented the Annual prizes to club members. Photographer of the Year award went to Chris Eaves.

Weymouth win Poole Battle

Poole Camera Club hosted this years inter club battle with Weymouth Camera Club on Tuesday 21st March 2017. It was a close contest with Weymouth trailing a little in the prints section but making up points in the DPI section.

More success for Mick Rose

Ascending was accepted into the Open Section. Mother & Infant Macaques was accepted into the Nature Section of the Southampton International Salon. A selection of the prize winning prints will be exhibited at Southampton’s WestQuay Shopping Centre from 31/03/17 to 02/04/17.

Brian Lynch Challenge Cup Results 2017

Weymouth Camera Club hosted the 2017 competition with Portland Camera Club. Sid Jones from Dorchester was the judge on the night. Weymouth Emerged victorious on the night with 295.5 points v 267.5 points.

“Get to Know Lightroom” Workshop a success

Weymouth Camera Club hosted a workshop on Lightroom on Tuesday 31st January 2017. Several visitors joined the workshop, free of charge, led by club member Steve Baker and supported by other members. Lottery funding has enabled the club to purchase a new projector, laptops and software to enable the club to set up workshops such as this to engage the wider public in photography techniques. More workshops are planned for the future.
